Below are the Broadway Shows that Junior Tours has found to be the most popular among student groups across the country.

Perhaps the weirdest show in New York (and that's saying a lot). Three bald, blue people startle you, thrill you, scare you and make you laugh out loud at their "physical stunts, visual gags, art commentary, audience participation and all-out sensory assault" (Time Magazine). *Ticket surcharges may apply

"Murder, greed, corruption, violence, exploitation, adultery and treachery--all those things we hold near and dear to our hearts." So begins the musical Chicago--and creators John Kander, Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse never back off from their bold and sinister promise. Chicago is the kiss-and-tell tale of Roxie Hart, a chorus girl who kills her lover as a career move; Billy Flynn, a sharp lawyer who turns Roxie into a celebrity; and Velma Kelly, a dancing jailbird with an ear for headlines and an eye for talent. Chicago, winner of six 1997 Tony Awards, including Best Musical Revival, is a loving look back at vaudeville, a timely satire of the justice system, and a reminder of what great theater can be.

In the fall of 1975, a new musical about the hopes and dreams of Broadway dancers opened in New York. It won rave reviews, nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and then went on to become the longest-running American musical ever.

In the fall of 2006, A Chorus Line will reclaim its place in the heart of Broadway. For a new generation, it's a chance to experience the quintessential Broadway musical on Broadway. For others, it's an opportunity to reconnect with a cherished friend.

A tribute to the big, brassy musical comedies of the 1950s, Curtains is a savagely funny new musical comedy, starring four-time Emmy Award-winner David Hyde Pierce (Frasier, Spamalot) and Tony Award-winner Debra Monk (Redwood Curtain, Steel Pier, NYPD Blue) and featuring a show-stopping score by the team of John Kander & Fred Ebb, the Tony Award-winning songwriters of such hits as Chicago, Cabaret and "New York, New York."

Curtains unfolds backstage at Boston's Colonial Theatre in 1959, where a new musical could be a Broadway smash, were it not for the presence of its talent-free leading lady. When the hapless star dies on opening night during her curtain call, Lieutenant Frank Cioffi arrives on the scene to conduct an investigation. But the lure of the theatre proves irresistible and after an unexpected romance blooms for the stage-struck detective, he finds himself just as drawn toward making the show a hit, as he is in solving the murder.

After spending a hopelessly devoted summer with new girl in town, Sandy Dumbrowski, Danny Zuko's world is thrown upside down when Sandy appears at Rydell High on the first day of school. What follows is a rock 'n' roll celebration of growin' up, cruisin' with friends and goin' steady while Danny and The T-Birds spar with The Pink Ladies who take "good girl" Sandy under their wing. In addition to the smash songs "Summer Nights," "Greased Lightning" and "We Go Together" made famous by the Broadway production, the new revival will include "You're the One That I Want," "Hopelessly Devoted to You" and "Sandy" from the 1978 film starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John as the lovelorn teens.

Set during the vaudeville era, Gypsy is about a relentless stage mother, Rose, traveling the country with her two daughters, June and Louise, and their manager, Herbie. While June and Louise wish their mother would settle down and marry Herbie, Rose continues to pursue dreams of stardom for her girls. When June deserts the act, Rose turns her attention to the shy Louise, whom she hopes to fashion into a star. When the act is booked into a burlesque house by mistake, Louise is forced into the spotlight and Gypsy Rose Lee is born.

With big girls, big hair, and even bigger laughs, comes Hairspray, a splashy new musical based on the 1988 John Waters film. It's 1962 and Baltimore teen Tracy Turnblad has only one dream--to dance on the popular Corny Collins Show. When her dream comes true, Tracy is transformed from social outcast to sudden star, but she must use her newfound power to vanquish the reigning teen queen, win the affections of heartthrob Link Larkin and integrate a TV network, all without denting her 'do!

In the Heights is a new musical about three days in the life of Washington Heights, a vibrant and tight-knit community at the top of the island of Manhattan. It's a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open, and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. In the Heights comes to Broadway after a successful run at off-Broadway's 37 Arts. It was nominated for the 2007 Drama Desk Awards for Outstanding Music and Outstanding Lyrics and won the 2007 Outer Critics Circle and Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Musical. From the same producers who brought us Rent and Avenue Q, and created by a team of New York's freshest young talents, In the Heights is the hip, modern and completely unique tale of a community at a crossroads.

After a pair of hit movies, beloved blonde Elle Woods has stepped into the spotlight at Broadway's Palace Theatre. A new musical version of Legally Blonde began performances in April 2007, and everyone's talking about how this overachieving fashionista is working her magic on the stage. After all, when you've been president of Delta Nu sorority and a Hawaiian Tropic girl, conquering Harvard Law—and the Great White Way—should be a cinch.

The Lion King is the story of a young lion cub named Simba who struggles to accept the responsibilities of adulthood and his destined role as king. To bring the classic 1994 film to life, Disney turned to the story's roots, its rich mythology, powerful human drama and primal African rhythms to create a fantastic new musical unlike anything Broadway has ever seen. Winner of 6 1998 Tony Awards, including Best New Musical, The Lion King is an adventure into another world.

In a magical kingdom beneath the sea, a beautiful young mermaid named Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. But first, she'll have to defy her father - the king of the sea, escape the clutches of an evil sea witch and convince a prince that she's the girl with the perfect voice. Based on one of the most beloved Disney films of all time and the classic Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, The Little Mermaid is the sparkling new Disney musical that's poised to make a splash on Broadway. Some of Disney's most popular songs are featured in the show - including "Part of Your World," "Kiss the Girl," and the Academy Award®-winning Best Original Song, "Under the Sea"- by the songwriting team of 8-time Academy Award® winner Alan Menken and the renowned Howard Ashman. The stage adaptation also features new songs by Menken and Glenn Slater, plus a book by Tony Award®- winning playwright Doug Wright.

The setting is a Greek island where 20-year-old Sophie is due to be married. Her mom, Donna (who happens to be a former singing star) is there, but her father isn't...because she's never met him. So, Sophie snoops in her mom's diary, chooses three former lovers as likely candidates and invites them to the wedding, hoping she can just figure it out when she sees them! This musical dances to a disco beat, featuring 22 of Swedish singing sensation ABBA's greatest hits, including "Dancing Queen," "The Winner Takes It All," "Take A Chance on Me," "Knowing Me, Knowing You" and "Super Trouper". These pop songs weave together an enchanting tale of love, laughter and friendship.

Based on P.L. Travers' cherished stories and the classic 1964 Walt Disney film, Mary Poppins features the Sherman brothers' original Academy Award-winning songs, and Oliver Award-winning director Richard Eyre leads a dream team of vision and stagecraft, bringing to life the story of the Banks family and their magical nanny. Mary Poppins marks the first collaboration between Disney, producer of the acclaimed The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and Tarzan®, and Cameron Mackintosh, legendary producer of the record-breaking The Phantom of the Opera, Cats and Les Miserables. The result is a new musical so extraordinarily enchanting that you'll have just one word for it: "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!"

A hilarious and haphazard musical search for the Holy Grail courtesy of the Monty Python boys. Telling the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and the quest for the Holy Grail in song, Monty Python's Spamalot features "a chorus line of legless knights, men in tights (with legs), killer rabbits and sexy dancing divas." The production also promises "some of the most unforgettable musical numbers you will ever see in the theater on this evening!" If you haven't figured it out already, Spamalot is an adaptation of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the 1975 film that is the best loved and most successful of the Monty Python screen ventures.

Phantom of the Opera, Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical of the classic gothic horror tale, leaves you joyful, breathless and begging for more. Sumptuously designed, with a thrilling score and breathtaking direction, the story of the mysterious specter who haunts the Paris Opera House continues to impress audiences on Broadway.

A brand-new musical (starts November 2008) based on Dreamworks' popular film brings the land of "far, far away" to Broadway!

Based on William Steig's novel and Dreamworks' popular animated film, Shrek the Musical follows the adventures of Shrek, a lovable swamp-dwelling ogre; his wisecracking sidekick, Donkey; the lovely Princess Fiona; Lord Farquaad and a chorus of everybody's favorite fractured fairytale creatures. With more layers than ever and a completely original new score, Shrek the Musical proves that there's more to the story than meets the ears. Don't be in a land "far, far away" when Shrek the Musical hits Broadway this fall!

Rodgers & Hammerstein's South Pacific is set on a tropical island in the Pacific during World War II, where US Navy nurse Nellie Forbush falls in love with local plantation owner Emile De Becque. Meanwhile, Lt. Joe Cable has fallen in love with young Liat, daughter of the irrepressible Bloody Mary. Both couples' happiness is threatened by the realities of the war and by their own prejudices. Also on the island are dozens of locals and Navy, all of whom seem to break into glorious song and dance at just the right moments. Bartlett Sher directs this revival, the first time South Pacific has been seen on Broadway since its premiere in 1949. The original production garnered extraordinary acclaim and countless awards including nine Tonys and a Pulitzer Prize. The revival includes such classic songs as "Some Enchanted Evening," "Bali Ha'i," "A Wonderful Guy," and "Nothing Like a Dame."

Long before Dorothy drops in, two girls meet in the land of Oz. One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. Wicked tells the story of how these two unlikely friends grew to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch. This fantasy-filled musical was the winner of three 2004 Tony Awards including prizes for Best Costume Design and Best Scenic Design. From real flying monkeys to a trip to the Emerald City and a soaring, modern score by Stephen Schwartz, Wicked is a true spectacle for the eyes and ears. The twists and turns in Gregory Maguire's incredibly imaginative back-story to The Wizard of Oz makes audiences literally gasp with delight. But not only that, Wicked is a truly heartfelt story of friendship and love. As Richard Zoglin of Time Magazine put it, "If every musical had a brain, a heart and the courage of Wicked, Broadway really would be a magical place!"

In Xanadu, the nine muses from ancient Greece come to life on a Venice Beach wall mural. While roller skating on the beach, one of the daughters, Kira, meets and falls for a frustrated record album cover artist named Sonny. Enter Danny McGuire, an aging song and dance man who Kira inspired back when he owned a supper club in New York in the 40s. Together, with the magical help of Kira, Sonny and Danny team up to build and open a roller disco nightclub called Xanadu. Based on the 1980 cult favorite film starring Olivia Newton-John, Xanadu will feature the songs written for the movie by Electric Light Orchestra and Newton-John as well as other ELO hits.

When Frederick Frankenstein, an esteemed New York brain surgeon and professor, inherits a castle and laboratory in Transylvania from his grandfather, deranged genius Victor Von Frankenstein, he faces a dilemma. Does he continue to run from his family's tortured past or does he stay in Transylvania to carry on his grandfather's mad experiments reanimating the dead and, in the process, fall in love with his sexy lab assistant Inga? Based on the hit 1974 film, Young Frankenstein unfolds in the forbidding Castle Frankenstein and the foggy moors of Transylvania Heights. The show's raucous score includes "The Transylvania Mania," "He Vas My Boyfriend" and the unforgettable treatment of Irving Berlin's "Putting On the Ritz."
